Description
Castor oil has been used in Ayurveda since ancient times. The plant is native to India and is known by the Sanskrit name Eranda. This highly revered oil, rich in rare fatty acids (ricinoleic), was used to protect the skin and nourish the scalp and hair. This long tradition has continued for generations, and the oil is used as a soothing, protective ingredient to help prevent diaper rash. Also a great ointment that protects against dry, cracked lips. The oil is very rich and is used sparingly, providing valuable skin hydration and moisture to keep the skin feeling protected. It is a traditional remedy for sluggish digestion that acts as a powerful laxative.
